There were a few things I had to bolt on including the handle bars, front tires, front brakes, rear shock, and fenders, but it was fairly straight-forward and only took me about 2 hours start to finish (Note: I am a former auto tech, but even a novice with a little time should be able to assemble this).The lowest speed is a little slow for anything other than learning (about 2-3mph), so you'll probably have it on speed setting #1 or #2 depending on how well your kids can ride. #1 goes about 5-6mph on pavement, and about 3-4mph in the grass without issues. I have a walkout basement and my kids can go around the house and up our grade with little slowing down. #2 is pretty quick and went about 10mph with me doing a short speed test on the street, so I expect it could go an easy 12-13mph if my kids were riding. Should be great once my kids are a little more advanced though!As for the features I love the front headlight and that it's on a switch, it seems to have good battery life (still on its first charge after about an hour of sporadic riding time), limiting the speed with a key is ingenious, and it looks great and is very solidly built. My only two criticisms are while I love the fact that it has front-dual\/single rear disc brakes I don't see how a kid under 7-8 years old can use them because the handle is designed for an adult hand and very stiff. Also, the suspension looks nice but is waaaayyy too stiff. It really doesn't provide any comfort to the rider, and I've even thought of trying to replace the springs and\/or coilover.All-in-all it's great all around starter quad with really nice features, and it looks like a real quad instead of a toy. Not like you need them a lot, but keep in mind that this ATV weight is around 100-115lbs, so having ability to do emergency stops is at least concern.Minor issue - key for speed control switch is the same key as used for ignition. This is not right because kid may simply stop -\u003e pull key from ignition -\u003e enable next speed level -\u003e put key back to ignition and start driving at 12 miles per hour. In other words parent control level is not good.But ... I am not confident if other similar kids ATVs don't have similar issue. Other than that ATV is very good. I would suggest everyone to be very careful with size understanding - this ATV is really very small and perfect fit 4-5-6 year old kids. I think at age 9-10 kids may not fit already.Pros .. basically ATV has everything you need- 3x12V batteries vs 2 on other similar models. So far my 6 year old is driving it for a week about 45min a day and I didn't charge it yet after initial full charge.500W motor vs 350W on all other models. It is basically a real heavy build ATV with powerful motor sized down to kids size.- three level of speed control - low level is very slow like 3 miles per hour. 2nd level - around 6. 3rd around 12. This is the best approach from what I research about kids ATV- reverse drive. It has one relatively serious issue and one minor issue.Serious issue - handle for hand breaks are done for adult size hand, while entire ATV is well scaled for 5 year old kid. This makes either front or rear breaks almost impossible to use for kids below 6-7 years age. I would say even at age range 7-8 kids may still have serious problem using breaks. Not like you need them a lot, but keep in mind that this ATV weight is around 100-115lbs, so having ability to do emergency stops is at least concern.Minor issue - key for speed control switch is the same key as used for ignition. This is not right because kid may simply stop -\u003e pull key from ignition -\u003e enable next speed level -\u003e put key back to ignition and start driving at 12 miles per hour. In other words parent control level is not good.But ... I am not confident if other similar kids ATVs don't have similar issue. Other than that ATV is very good. I would suggest everyone to be very careful with size understanding - this ATV is really very small and perfect fit 4-5-6 year old kids. I think at age 9-10 kids may not fit already.Pros .. basically ATV has everything you need- 3x12V batteries vs 2 on other similar models. So far my 6 year old is driving it for a week about 45min a day and I didn't charge it yet after initial full charge.500W motor vs 350W on all other models. It is basically a real heavy build ATV with powerful motor sized down to kids size.- three level of speed control - low level is very slow like 3 miles per hour. 2nd level - around 6. 3rd around 12. This is the best approach from what I research about kids ATV- reverse drive. We love the speed limiter control. It is true the brake handles are hard for him to reach but you don't really need them on the slow or medium speed. Bought this for his 3rd birthday after having a 12 volt power wheels type quad for a year. He's about 36 inches tall and maybe 25 lbs? (Kinda small for his age but a pretty good driver.) He sits on it comfortably but there is plenty of room to grow. Second level speed is just enough faster than the old quad to satisfy him for now. Third level is WAY faster than I can run, so if you need to keep up with your little one, be warned. And the thing still hauls pretty good with my almost 150 lb arse on it! But if you going from a plastic wheeled toy to this very real machine, you (and your neighbors) will thank God for the silence!
